Becoming Well-Balanced

1:1, 60-minute sessions for Occupational Therapists and OTAs

You’ve already done the hard part. You’ve realized you need more support and you’re being proactive about finding it.

Kudos to you!

I recently switched from a SNF setting to school-based therapy. I am the only OT in the district so I have limited mentorship outside friends who work in the setting. After starting the school year and being completing overwhelmed, I reached out to Katie for questions, advice, and tips and tricks to help me become successful in this new setting. I have had one meeting so far and I already feel much more confident. She has helped me think outside the box, give me suggestions on the evaluation process and goals that I would have not otherwise thought of, and reassurance that it will get better! I am excited to work with Katie more in the future!

In many of my talks with Occupational Therapists, there is a constant theme among them.

The lack of mentorship is rampant.

In polls I’v conducted, more than half of new therapists have never received any formal mentorship on their first job. Often times they are told they’ll have access to other therapists to ask questions, but with high caseload demands and busy schedules, it’s almost impossible to make that happen.

Mentorship at your fingertips...

I get it. Business owners need to succeed too. To do that, therapists need to be busy, but for a clinic to be successful, they also need to have confident and educated therapists.  This doesn’t just apply to clinic therapists. School and home-based therapists are often working alone. Again, with minimal support and no daily OT interactions.

When I graduated OT school, the only mentorship options you had were at your place of employment. Thankfully, that’s no longer the case.

In 2021, I decided to open my (virtual) mentorship doors to Pediatric Occupational Therapists (and OTAs)  because I was tired of seeing therapists feel defeated. Since then, I’ve helped support hundreds of therapists!

It doesn’t matter if you’re a new grad or a seasoned therapist. Everyone can benefit from guidance, support, and a second set of eyes to brainstorm.

"Katie helped me feel more confident in my ability to problem solve and evaluate a variety of children on my caseload. I learned how to effectively communicate tough conversations with parents. In addition when I was in a rut for treatment ideas or had difficulty working towards children’s goals, she helped me gain a fresh perspective with treatment ideas to make the just right challenge that is also fun!"

I’m happy to support you in anyway possible. If you are feeling unsure if I have expertise in a certain topic, please  find more info about me and my areas of expertise here, or reach out to me via email: Hello@thewellbalancedOT.com

Katie is an excellent mentor. She does a wonderful job of listening and helping guide my learning. After having worked with Katie for two sessions, I've experienced an increase in efficiency and have used more effective communication during the OT initial evaluation process. Working with Katie has been well worth the investment of time and money.

How it works...

We meet for 60 minutes via Zoom. The session is recorded, so that you don’t have to worry about taking notes and you can re-watch it again and again.

The sessions can be purchased by the hour, or in a set of 3, which will save you $30.

Why purchase 3 sessions at a time?

  • 60 minutes is a great starting point but can go by so quickly.
  • The sessions can be spread out to be used once a month if needed.
  • You save money.
  • Because you will feel 3x as confident, knowledgeable, and prepared. Your practice deserves it.

Once purchased, please schedule your appointment(s) below!
